Live Practice activities

The Live Practices are your chance to help your learners put their new language knowledge into practice!

Every week, your learners will do some studying on their own, from vocab and grammar to listening and reading exercises, and come prepared to go through everything in the Live Practice.

At each Live Practice, you’ll cover whatever your learner has studied that week. Generally, Live Practices follow the same format, with a grammar game, a vocab game, a conversation, some role play and a debate (plus, sometimes, small extra activities like a pronunciation exercise).

The activities fall into two different categories: games (like grammar games and vocab games) and real-life activities, to put the learner’s skills to the test in a real-life context (like in conversation, role play and debate). Each session you’ll need to cover at least two activities, with at least one real-life scenario.

The games help your learner really get to grips with their new skills and are a good place to start if your learner needs a confidence boost with your grammar or vocab.

The conversation, role play and debate help put these skills to use in real-life scenarios. If your learner is already pretty confident, feel free to skip straight to these types of exercises.

A lot of these activities come with visuals as well, with links and instructions to help you use them.

Remember, the ‘lesson objectives’ you see for each Live Practice relates to the whole lesson, not just that specific Live Practice. The learner should already have done a lot of work towards these objectives before the Live Practice - you don’t have to cover everything!
